Swansea in Bloom and sponsorship 2020

Sponsor usThe Swansea in Bloom Group is appealing for sponsors to support our highly popular annual gardening competition.

Until 2017 the City Council gave us financial and administrative support - but this is no longer the case, and we are turning to individuals and local businesses for their help.

The competition had been held annually for more than 20 years until 2018, when we no longer had the resources we needed to hold the event.

Although the Group’s management committee and panel of judges are entirely voluntary, there are on-going costs associated with the competition including annual presentations for the winners, website maintenance and general administration.

We are asking supporters to sponsor individual categories as well as the overall event.

The SIB gardening competition has played a major part in bringing together schools, businesses and individuals, and in making Swansea bloom every summer.

The benefits to those involved, and to the environment, cannot be overstated.

Consequently the Group’s management committee is determined to keep the competition running for the foreseeable future.

Where does the money go?

  • Website development and management
  • Photography of winning entries
  • Hire of halls for winners’ presentations
  • Refreshments at the presentations
  • Winners’ plaques
  • Promotional material
  • Postage and stationery

Benefits to the sponsors

The SIB annual gardening competition has attracted huge support over the years with extensive publicity.

Sponsors will feature prominently on the SIB website, which is now the central point for all competition communications.

All sponsors with have their names and logos featured on every page of the site, and major contributors will have a dedicated page where they can display corporate ID and a company synopsis.

The site will enjoy a growing number of hits as the event progresses.

Company logos will also feature in the presentations held for the schools winners, and for the main competition.

We will endeavour to gain additional coverage for sponsors in regular press releases to the local media.

Individual sponsors and representatives from supporting organisations will be invited to attend the award winners’ presentations.

Although the Group can’t promise tangible returns from sponsorship, we believe the association with this popular eco-friendly event will generate goodwill and result in additional exposure which can only be of benefit to all those generous enough to support us.
