Swansea in Bloom needs your help to survive

The SIB annual gardening competition has been treasured by Swansea’s schools, householders and businesses for more than 25 years.

However, the competition’s survival depends on a handful of volunteers who freely give their time and resources to organise the entries, judging and award ceremonies each year. But despite all our efforts, we manage to cover only the most essential tasks and there is never spare capacity to grow and improve the competition.

To be honest we’re struggling, and we need more help if the competition is to continue.

The managing committee meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 6.00 pm at the Tesco store in Fforestfach, and the meetings generally end by 8.00.

During the meetings we plan forthcoming events and distribute tasks to the committee members to be carried before we meet again.

The committee is relaxed and friendly, and the tasks are far from onerous.

Please help us if you can - Swansea will be grateful for your support.

If you think you will be able to give us some of your time, there is a simple form below to complete and submit, or you can email me direct ian@swanseainbloom.co.uk.

Ian Norton, Secretary.
